Julia Block Pearson is a social gal. In more ways than one — I mean, look at her ⬇️
That warm, smiling face just screams, “I talk to strangers!”
But she’s also a social media queen 👑
Her company, Stratos Creative Marketing, offers social strategy and execution as a service, and their Instagram account is two tons of playful fun, and gorgeous to boot. (She’s one of a handful of StoryBrand Guides I talk to almost exclusively on Instagram instead of our Slack workspace.)
She’s also my *people*. We had a blast and a half caching up on her Marketing in the Wild podcast a few months ago. You should definitely listen to that episode.
Anyway, she’s got some hot tips for ya in the next text block. Read on.
Any marketer worth their salt will tell you to grow an email list so you have people you can sell to.
There are tons of ways to do it:
🎤 Speaking on stages
🆓 Offering a lead generator on your website
🚪 Going door-to-door at local businesses (j/k, don’t do that 🤣)
But the easiest, most cost-effective way (because time = money), is with cheaper-than-you’d-think list-building ads.
Before I tell you how…
Hey, I’m Julia from Stratos Creative. 👋 A couple of years ago, our clients weren’t getting the results they wanted because their existing audiences were burned out on emails and social.
So why not refresh that audience with new peeps?
Boom 💥
The List-Building Blitz — an easy way to grow your list for less than $5 an email — was born.
Here’s what to do:
➡️ Create a kick-ass lead generator.
Here’s a list of 21 excellent list-building ideas. If you need help, I’m positive Paige can help. [Editor’s note: Correct, I can.]
➡️ Set up the ads in Meta (Facebook and Instagram) using the lead-gen goal.
Basically, you’re telling Zuck that you only want to pay when people give you their email, not just click.
➡️ Do a happy dance every time a new prospect signs up.
Our clients grow their email lists for, on average, $2-ish per email. The only one who didn’t was an energy company…because honestly, who wants to sign up to get energy company emails? 🤷♀️
From there, start sending those new peeps a combo of nurture and sales email…and you’re golden.
