Crème brûlée.

Mmm.

The satisfying tap-tap-tap of your spoon against the glassy sugar top.

The indulgence of the sweet vanilla custard, warm at the top and satisfyingly cool at the bottom of the dish.

Even the name is fancy, with all those áccênt mârks.

But even though every creamy spoonful of crème brûlée basically makes my eyes roll back into my head and my body melt into my chair…

And even though I spend most of my free time baking sweet treats…

(Which I pass off to my elderly neighbor, Rosalie, who has a delightfully strong sweet tooth…)

I’ve never baked crème brûlée.

I always thought…it’s just so fancy.

😩 It’s probably super hard.
😔 I’m probably not experienced enough.
😬 I don’t think I even have the right tools — don’t you need a blow torch or something?

But you know what I figured out today?

If you want to make crème brûlée, you can make crème brûlée (yep, even without a blow torch).

I just took my very first attempt out of the oven, and it smells AMAZING. 🤗

As I was pulling my tray out of the oven, I thought…
Oh, my goodness. This is just like TEDx.

So many business owners want that powerful TEDx credibility, but they think:

P.S. The plural of “crème brûlée” is technically “crèmes brûlées,” which I think makes the speaker sound a little drunk and not very sophisticated at all, but what can we do? It’s French. 🤷‍♀️
